Alcoa, TN Hiring: Lead the City's Financial Future as Director of Finance

Alcoa, Tennessee is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Finance to oversee all aspects of the city's financial operations. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring the fiscal health, stability, and responsible growth of our vibrant community.

The Role: As Director of Finance, you will be a key member of the city's executive leadership team, reporting directly to the City Manager. You will be responsible for:
- Financial Planning & Budgeting: Developing and managing the city's annual budget, forecasting future financial needs, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Financial Reporting: Preparing accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Accounting & Auditing: Overseeing all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Managing the annual audit process.
- Investment Management: Managing the city’s investment portfolio to maximize returns while minimizing risk.
- Debt Management: Developing and implementing strategies for managing the city’s debt obligations.
- Grant Management: Overseeing the application for and management of federal, state, and local grants.
- Team Leadership: Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of finance professionals.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a government setting.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and government financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with financial software and systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Tyler Technologies).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant professional certifications are highly desirable.
